ISO/TC 176/SC 2/WG 29
Working Group 29 convened for its 7th meeting on 26 and 27 September 2024. This session held remotely via Zoom, focused on advancing the disposition of the remaining comments received on the first Committee Draft. The meeting saw active participation from 56 members representing 31 national standards bodies and five liaison organisations, reflecting the global collaboration driving the revision process.
During the two-day meeting, the team reviewed and discussed the updated project timeline. To accommodate the additional review and refinement required at the second Committee Draft stage, the development timeline for the standard has been extended to 36 months. This adjustment has shifted the anticipated publication date for the revised ISO 9001 to September 2026, ensuring thorough deliberation and alignment among stakeholders.
Looking ahead, WG 29 has planned follow-up meetings in November and December. These sessions will focus on finalising the content of the second Committee Draft, a crucial step toward advancing the standard’s development. The group’s ongoing work underscores its commitment to maintaining ISO 9001 as a cornerstone of quality management worldwide.
